A lifelong learner, in her retirement, she dedicated time to ongoing training and sharing as a docent at the Peabody Essex Museum and Cape Ann Museum. Hazel made lifelong friendships, many of them dating back to her years in the Belmont school systems, including Belmont Day School as well as Cornell University. Hazel was an avid reader, writer, sailor, walker, knitter, entertainer, correspondent and thinker. Favorite activities included time with friends and family, new and old, bird watching, journaling and learning. Hazel is survived by her children and their spouses, Theodore von Rosenvinge, IV and his wife, Linda of Gloucester, MA, Wendy von Courter and her wife, Gini of Buckley, MI and Margot von Rosenvinge-Horn and her husband, Rob of Bennington, NH, 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
