Pot Holders & Hot Mat

For each potholder:

Cut 8″ squares of natural fiber, fabric

• • • • One of decorative fabric
      • One of backing material (can be the same fabric or contrasting)

Cut 7″ batting (one or two layers, natural fiber)

Sew or quilt batting to wrong side of backing material, centered on fabric

Pin right sides of front and back materials.

With half-inch, seam sew front and back together leaving enough room to turn the fabric right side out.

Turn, poking the corners out with a bamboo stick, pen or pencil.

For each hot mat:

Cut 8″x 16″ piece of natural fiber, fabric

• • • • One of decorative fabric
      • One of backing material (can be the same fabric or contrasting)

Cut 7″ x 14″ batting (one or two layers, natural fiber)

Sew or quilt batting to wrong side of backing material, centered on fabric

Pin right sides of front and back materials.

With half-inch, seam sew front and back together leaving enough room to turn the fabric right side out.

Turn, poking the corners out with a bamboo stick, pen or pencil.
